Remarks Occurs inshore (Ref. 75154). Commensal with anemones (apparently host specific for Physobrachia douglasi); large numbers of A. melanopus are common in areas where this cluster-dwelling anemone is numerous. Feeds on plants, benthic and planktonic invertebrates (Ref. 237).
