Remarks Nocturnal predator. Occurs in small groups. Feeds mainly on the fruits of Astrocaryum javary (Ref. 9084). Captured individuals had a large amount of fleshy fruits in their stomachs. This fish is also known to feed on snails and aquatic macrophytes (Ref. 6868).
