 Family:  Paralichthyidae (Large-tooth flounders)
 Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 59 - 366 m
 Distribution:  Western Atlantic: North Carolina to Florida and northern Gulf of Mexico in USA to Yucatan in Mexico; reported to extend to Suriname (Ref. 13608).
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 66-67; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 49-50
 Biology:  Occurs in bays, lagoons and shallow coastal waters.
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
