 Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Geophaginae
 Max. size:  5.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic; pH range: 7 - 7.5; dH range: 10
 Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin, in tributaries to the Ucayali and Amazon rivers and in the Yavarí River in Peru and the Japurá River in Brazil.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Known from black-, clear-water and white-water conditions (Ref. 9088). Eggs are deposited on the ceiling of caves and are tendered by the female parent (Ref. 47893).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
