 Max. size:  38 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 2 - 490 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Hawaii. Northwestern Pacific: Ladd Seamount.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Sand-dwelling in the shallows to 490 m and can be seen at night with head protruding obliquely from the sand (Ref. 26145). Benthic (Ref. 58302).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
