 Family:  Arhynchobatidae (Skates)
 Max. size:  78.9 cm TL (male/unsexed); 36.2 cm WD (female)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range - 150 m
 Distribution:  Western Atlantic: off the east coast of Brazil (Ref. 8630) from Cabo Frio southwards to Argentina (Ref. 57911).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (A3bd+4bd) (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
