 Family:  Aulostomidae (Trumpetfishes)
 Max. size:  75 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 5 - 25 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Cape Verde (including other islands) and from the tropical West African coast.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Coastal species (Ref. 27000). Occurs over rocky bottoms in shallow inshore waters. Feeds mainly on small fishes (Ref. 6554).
