 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 10-10. Adult male not darkened anteriorly; 13-24 predorsal scales, entirely cycloid; opercle always scaled; cheek usually naked; body depth about 5 times in SL.
