 Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
 Max. size:  14 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: Swakopmund, Namibia southward to East London, South Africa.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-12; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 10-11. Pale bar at pectoral base bordered by a dark bar anteriorly (Ref. 2798).
 Biology:  Found in rock pools and estuaries, in weed or mud (Ref. 5299).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
