 Max. size:  32.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 35 - 1775 m
 Distribution:  North Pacific: off Japan, and from the Sea of Okhotsk to off Washington, USA.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 58-64; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 52-58; Vertebrae: 64-70. Pectoral fin slightly notched; disk length 13.2 to 20.0% of head length (Ref. 559). Body indigo; fins black; peritoneum black; stomach pale (Ref. 559).
