 Family:  Chaunacidae (Sea toads)
 Max. size:  30 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 90 - 500 m
 Distribution:  Northwestern Pacific: restricted to the area, from Japan to southern Taiwan and into the South China Sea.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found in the sublittoral to upper bathyal zone (Ref. 11230).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
