 Family:  Chlopsidae (False morays)
 Max. size:  19.9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 64 - 355 m
 Distribution:  Western Atlantic and Western Indian Ocean. Occurrence off the west coast of Africa is based on larval specimens. Also eastern Atlantic; western Pacific (Ref. 26938).
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0. Adults irregularly mottled (Ref. 3251).
 Biology: 
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
