 Environment:  benthopelagic; pH range: 7.5 - 8.5; dH range: 3 - 14
 Distribution:  Central America: Atlantic slope of southeastern Mexico and northern Guatemala.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits lakes and lower river valley. Tolerates brackish water. Feeds on both aquatic and terrestrial plants which line the river banks.
