 Max. size:  39 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Zanzibar, Tanzania to Kosi Bay, South Africa, including Aldabra Island (Ref. 3972), and Hawaiian Islands (Ref. 58302).
 Diagnosis:  Olive brown, lighter ventrally (Ref. 3972).
 Biology:  Benthic but sometimes seen swimming at surface (Ref. 58302).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
