 Family:  Cirrhitidae (Hawkfishes)
 Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 15 - 30 m
 Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden to the Gulf of Oman.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Orange with dusky blotches, becoming blackish posteriorly; caudal fin white with small blackish spots and a black posterior border (Ref. 11441).
 Biology:
