 Family:  Clinidae (Clinids)
 Max. size:  11 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 13 - 50 m
 Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: endemic to southern Africa. The 'Sea of China' locality for the type species is an error.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 31-34; Dorsal soft rays (total): 5-7; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 20-23. Light in color with broad orange crossbars.
 Biology:  Carnivorous; feeds on other fishes (Ref. 94105).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
