 Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
 Max. size:  47 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range - 10 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Santa Elena, Ecuador to Coquimbo, Chile.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Common species found in coastal waters (Ref. 9118). Juveniles enter estuaries and shallow bays (Ref. 9118). Feeds mainly on shrimps and fishes (Ref. 9118).
