 Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
 Max. size:  115 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 9,520.0 g
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 1 - 30 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Gulf of California to Peru.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits coastal waters, lagoons and estuaries (Ref. 9118). Also found offshore (Ref. 11035). Feeds mainly on small fishes and shrimps (Ref. 9118). Lower depth range assumed (RF).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
