 Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Syngnathinae
 Max. size:  3.42 cm SL (male/unsexed); 3.47 cm SL (female)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range - 11 m
 Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Arabian Sea, Oman, Masirah Island.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Occurs in caves, on rocky substrate. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
