 Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
 Max. size:  25 cm (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Asia and Oceania: Previously known only from New Guinea, this species is relatively common in the lower Mekong and occurs upstream as far as KhonĂ© Falls.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8
 Biology:  Occurs mainly in lakes and backwaters of the lowland plain, but also occasionally found in main river channels (Ref. 2847). Feeds on small fishes and crustaceans. Marketed fresh (Ref. 12693).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
