 Family:  Congridae (Conger and garden eels), subfamily: Congrinae
 Max. size:  43 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range - 130 m
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: South Africa (Ref. 5323), Australia (Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania), and New Zealand (Ref. 5755).
 Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 119-126. Olive dorsally, silvery on head, lighter ventrally. Dusky margin on median fins.
 Biology:  Occurs on the continental shelf (Ref. 9563).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
