 Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Gobioninae
 Max. size:  14.87 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  Europe: France in the upper Loire, Dordogne, Lot and Tran drainages.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Diagnosed from other congeners in Europe by the possession of the following characters: markedly concave interorbital area in over 8 cm SL individuals; 5 scales between anus and anal origin; head length 25-29% SL; breast scaled forward until in front of pectorals; 38-40 + 2-3 scales on lateral line; 4 scale rows between lateral and pelvic origin; eye diameter 1.4-1.7 times in interorbital distance; caudal peduncle depth 1.6-2.2 times in its length; midlateral blotches not conspicuous, not contrasted and with fuzzy margins; 16 scales rows around the caudal peduncle (Ref. 59043).
 Biology:  Inhabits streams in hilly area with moderate to swift current (Ref. 59043).
