 Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea and Aden, Yemen to the Persian Gulf.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-12; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Caudal fin rounded.
 Biology:  Found on live coral (Ref. 11441); a coral-commensal species (Ref. 72446).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
