 Family:  Embiotocidae (Surfperches)
 Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 0 - 101 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Seal Rock in Oregon, USA to central Baja California, Mexico.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Occurs on the surface up to 101 m (Ref. 96339). Rarely caught from surf and piers by sport fishermen. Viviparous, female carries the developing young (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
