 Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
 Max. size:  5.1 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic,
 Distribution:  Africa: endemic to Lake Tanganyika, only known from the Sambala River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 93962).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Most probably a lacustrine species that ventures into river mouths; by general features it appears to belong to the shell-dweller group of fishes (Ref. 6770). Bottom-oriented shell breeder (Ref. 95525).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
