 Family:  Aulopidae (Aulopus)
 Max. size:  60 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range - 100 m
 Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: Endemic to Australia (Ref. 7300), but also reported from New Zealand (Ref. 38927).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  A temperate, benthic species inhabiting rocky reefs and soft bottoms on the continental shelf (Ref. 7300, 9563).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
