 Family:  Creediidae (Sandburrowers)
 Max. size:  7.2 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 0 - 6 m
 Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: endemic to New Zealand.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Buries itself in areas of broken shell and gravel with only the head exposed. Darts away and dives into the sand when disturbed.
