 Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Syngnathinae
 Max. size:  7.9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: endemic to Australia.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found on the continental shelf (Ref. 75154). One specimen found floating among Sargassum sp., others taken from trawl and dredge samples. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
