 Family:  Lophiidae (Goosefishes)
 Max. size:  45 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 234 - 760 m
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: East Africa to Vanuatu and Wallis and Futuna, north to the Philippines, south to northern Australia.
 Diagnosis:  Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Light to dark brown above, lighter below; body, median fins, and pectorals pigmented (distal portion of pectorals with darker pigmentation).
 Biology:  Found on the outer continental shelf and upper slope. Feeds mainly on fishes (Ref. 5236). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
