 Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
 Max. size:  4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 5 - 100 m
 Distribution:  Western Pacific: Japan, Taiwan and New Caledonia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 5-7. Pelvic fins with a well-developed frenum; anterior nostrils usually present (rarely absent on one side); dorsal and ventral edges of caudal peduncle strongly keeled; bright yellow in color (Ref. 45340).
 Biology:  Inhabits shallow inshore to moderate depth on muddy substrates, usually with small outcrops of rubble or debris (Ref. 48637). Collected from muddy sand bottom (Ref. 45340).
