 Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
 Max. size:  43.5 cm SL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 1,479.0 g; max. reported age: 4 years
 Environment:  benthopelagic; depth range 25 - 80 m
 Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: southern Japan and East China Sea. Reported from Hong Kong (Ref. 33067).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found near shore, including semi-enclosed sea areas, in mud to sandy mud bottom (Ref. 11230). Used in Chinese medicine (Ref. 12166).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
