 Family:  Myctophidae (Lanternfishes), subfamily: Lampanyctinae
 Max. size:  14.2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; depth range 45 - 1000 m, oceanodromous
 Distribution:  Mediterranean Sea: endemic to the western region.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  High-oceanic, found between 375-1,000 m during the day and between 45-150 m at night. Spawns from winter to spring.
