 Family:  Percidae (Perches), subfamily: Etheostomatinae
 Max. size:  11 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  North America: Guadalupe River system in Texas, USA.
 Diagnosis:  Distinguished by having the following characters: preopercle usually with 0-1 serrae (rarely 2-6); lateral line with 65-81scales (usually more than 67); and belly of males usually with 24 or more scutes (Ref. 86798).
 Biology:  Inhabits fast rocky runs of small to medium rivers, often near brush (Ref. 86798).
