 Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
 Max. size:  12 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; pH range: 8 - 8; dH range: 9 - 19; depth range - 15 m
 Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi. Occurs on Likoma Island.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Commonly found over sand. May be seen in shallower waters but prefers a depth of 7 m. Feeds by collecting stirred-up material like invertebrates and algae (Ref. 5595).
