 Distribution:  South America: Rio Mearim, rio Pindaré, rio Itapecuru and rio Parnaíba basins in northeastern Brazil.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6. Anal fin iii-iv,8-9 (Ref. 79514).
