 Family:  Myctophidae (Lanternfishes), subfamily: Myctophinae
 Max. size:  6.1 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathypelagic; depth range - 2000 m, oceanodromous
 Distribution:  Probably circumglobal in distribution between 34°S and 48°S. Southern Ocean: 49°-50°S, 70°-71°E.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-14; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 21-24
 Biology:  High-oceanic and mesopelagic; found below 140 m at night (Ref. 4066). Encountered in the stomach contents of Champsocephalus gunnari.
