 Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
 Max. size:  42 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 70 - 600 m
 Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Panama (Ref. 3702), Colombia, Venezuela, and Trinidad.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found over mud bottoms between 70-140 m around islands and between 250 and 600 m on the continental slope (Ref. 3702). Feeds mainly on shrimps and small fishes (Ref. 3702).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
