 Family:  Centrolophidae (Medusafishes)
 Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 200 - 800 m
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Mozambique Channel (22°S, 36°E), Andaman Sea and Molucca Sea (Ref 4410) and West Australian Basin (Ref. 54802).
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 5-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 26-29; Anal spines: 2-3; Anal soft rays: 25-28. Dark brownish blue to brown, tan laterally, darker area on shoulder near lateral line (Ref. 4410).
 Biology:  Found over sandy and muddy bottoms (Ref. 5213).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
