 Family:  Centrolophidae (Medusafishes)
 Max. size:  44 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: Peru and Chile. Southwest Atlantic (Ref. 6077): Brazil to Argentina.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 5-5; Dorsal soft rays (total): 37-40; Anal spines: 2-3; Anal soft rays: 23-27; Vertebrae: 25-25. Body dark blue above, tips of fins black, a black blotch above pectoral fin base. Several to about 10 blotches sometimes on midbody (Ref. 27363).
