 Family:  Cynoglossidae (Tonguefishes), subfamily: Symphurinae
 Max. size:  11.6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 220 - 737 m
 Distribution:  Indian Ocean: Gulf of Oman, Bay of Bengal off Madras Coast, off west coast of India, Gulf of Manaár, and off Ceylon (Sri Lanka).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Mature female specimens with elongate ovaries at sizes 9.26 and 9.35 cm SL were examined. Nothing is known of its life history (Ref. 26267).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
