 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 0 - 12 m
 Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Tanzania to Sodwana Bay, South Africa, including Aldabra.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-4; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 8-8
 Biology:  Occurs in tide pools and coral reefs.
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
