 Family:  Trachinidae (Weeverfishes)
 Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range - 150 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Senegal to Nigeria, including the Canary Islands and Cape Verde (Ref. 6790). Reported from Mauritania (Ref. 55783).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits rocky, sandy and muddy bottoms in littoral and coastal waters (Ref. 2683, 6790).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
