 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 10 - 30 m
 Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: Australia and New Caledonia to Easter Island.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 12-12
 Biology:  Adults inhabit rocky and coral reefs. Usually in small groups (Ref. 9710). Feeds on benthic invertebrates (Ref. 89972). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Reported from Tubbataha Reefs (Ref. 53416). Outside distributional range, occurrence needs verification.
