 Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
 Max. size:  12 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  pelagic-neritic
 Distribution:  Western Pacific: Kanagawa Prefecture southward to Ryukyu Islands, East China Sea and the Philippines.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Gill rakers 1 + 1 + 7.
 Biology:  Found in sandy-muddy bottoms around rocky reefs (Ref. 41299).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
