 Family:  Stomiidae (Barbeled dragonfishes), subfamily: Astronesthinae
 Max. size:  13.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathypelagic; depth range 100 - 1120 m
 Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: reported from several countries from Japan to Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-12; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 17-19. AC photopores discontinuous, 6th to 8th or 7th to 9th above level of others. Barbel uniformly black, its base pale; its terminal bulb slightly smaller than PV photophore. No black spot on caudal peduncle.

 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Collected during the Hearst Expedition 2011 done off Batangas and Mindoro, off SW Luzon (Ref. 95664).
