 Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobionellinae
 Max. size:  15.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 0 - 5 m, amphidromous
 Distribution:  Asia: India to the Philippines and north to Japan. Oceania: Fiji (Ref. 12743); French Polynesia (Ref. 12792); and, New Caledonia and Vanuatu (Ref. 38002).
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 10-10; Vertebrae: 26. A black ocellus on the posterior part of the first dorsal fin. Upper jaw thick and slightly extended. The cheek and upper portion of operculum scaled.
 Biology:  Found on fine gravel bottoms from estuaries to fresh water of rivers.
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Reported from Taal Lake (Ref. 12165, 13446), Lake Naujan (Ref. 13446) and the Cagayan River in Aparri (Ref. 108829).
