 Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: No subfamily
 Max. size:  10.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic
 Distribution:  Asia: Lake Lanao, Lumbatan, Mindanao, Philippines.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5. Color dark blackish brown dorsally, paler on sides, yellowish brown on belly; fins dusky. Low dorsal profile with hump behind nape. 9 scales between nape and dorsal. Resembles C. katolo but with shorter pectorals and ventrals, fewer scales between dorsal and head, and different coloration.

 IUCN Red List Status: Critically Endangered (A1ce) (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Type specimens were collected at Lumbatan, Lake Lanao (Ref. 13446), Mindanao (1921). Also Ref. 280, 70969, 94476.
