 Max. size:  4.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Asia: Mekong to the Philippines.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits very shallow water of flowing streams, canals ditches and marshes (Ref. 12693). Occurs from completely freshwater habitats downstream to brackish waters of the estuarine zone (Ref. 12693). Prefers areas of considerable plant growth (Ref. 12693). Feeds on zooplankton (Ref. 12693). Not seen in markets (Ref. 12693).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
 Country info:  Specimens were collected from Inuntan, Basey River, Samar and San Jose, Dulag, Leyte in 1993 (Ref. 7223). Type locality: Kabili River, Dumaguete (Ref. 43716). Also Ref. 7050, 11081, 94476.
