 Environment:  benthopelagic; depth range 1 - 1229 m
 Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: in tropical areas.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 33-36; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 28-30. Lateral line complete. Scales of adults without spines.
 Biology:  Usually found near land masses (Ref. 4388).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
