Adults inhabit seaward reef slopes (Ref. 9710), with caves and large crevices. Congregated in groups in caves when not feeding on plankton away from the reefs. Often see well away from shelter and in spread-out schools (Ref. 48636). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205). |
